Yanett Ramirez - Yaguana
(b. 1991 - Peru)
Yanett immigrated with her family to Queens, NYC in the early 00s and always had a pull toward film production, photography and poetry. Her photo work leans towards a blend of street, photojournalism and plant photography. Many of her photo series include commentary on race, the nostalgia of the city, and archiving her parents' lives as immigrants. Her work in the film, TV and documentary production department spans 10 years: ‘The Trial of Chicago 7’, ‘The Dinner’, ‘Bull (S01)’, ‘Black Beauty’, ‘Aggie’, ‘Chavela’, ‘US Kids’ and more. She graduated in 2014 from CUNY (The City College) with a BFA in Film and Video Production.
